This is a petition for quashing of FIR on the basis of compromise. Vide order dated 3.5.2013, a Coordinate Bench of this Court while considering the matter had declined the prayer for quashing on the basis of compromise on the ground that the prayer is offensive to the public interest. However, notice was issued to determine the status of the enquiry and the proceedings.
State counsel has informed that 9 PWs have been examined out of 12 cited witnesses.
Dismissed. However, a direction is issued to the trial Court to conclude the trial within a period of six months after the next date of hearing. The trial Court is directed to adopt the procedure as per Section 309 (2) Cr.P.C. in case the trial is not concluded within period of six months.
