Petitioners have approached this Court with a prayer for issuance of a direction to the respondents to grant the petitioners the pay scales after removing the anomalies, which have crept in the pay revision. The details of the claims made by the petitioners are as follows:-

“ 1(i) Deputy Director in the small Savings department be given the pay scale of Rs.15,600-39100 band grade Rs.6,600/- with initial start of Rs.l25,250/-.

2(i) Senior District Savings Officer be given pay scale of Rs.15,600-39,100 with grade of Rs.6,000/- and initial start of Rs.21,000/-.

3(i) District Saving Officer be given the pay scale of Rs.10,300-34,800/- with grade of Rs.5,400/- and initial start of Rs.18,450/-.”

Petitioners have been representing to the respondents for consideration of the grant of the pay scales as has been referred to above, but without any response. One of the representation is appended as Annexure P-3 with the writ petition. Thereafter,

Civil Writ Petition No.6105 of 2013 :2:

petitioners served a legal notice dated 4.7.2012 (Annexure P-7) upon the respondents, which has also not been responded till date.

Counsel contends that the petitioners, at this stage, would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.1-Principal Secretary, Government of Punjab, Department of Finance to consider and decide the legal notice dated 4.7.2012 (Annexure P-7) served by the petitioners, within some specified time.

In view of the statement made by the counsel for the petitioners and without going into the merit of the case or commenting thereon, the present writ petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.1-Principal Secretary, Government of Punjab, Department of Finance to consider and decide the legal notice dated 4.7.2012 (Annexure P-7) within a period of six months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. In case the claim of the petitioners is not to be accepted, then a well reasoned and speaking order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner forthwith.
