Satpal Singh Vs State of Punjab and Ors.

The claim in this petition is by a Contractor, who claims that his bills have not been discharged even though the construction of individual household latrines in various village of District Ferozepur and providing drinking water supply to village Jhanda Bagga Nawan, Block Makhu, District Ferozepur, stands completed. The petitioner has served a legal notice dated 11.02.2013 (Annexure P-2) which has not been acted upon so far.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction be issued to the respondents to consider and decide the aforesaid legal notice within a time bound period for release of outstanding payments.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider and decide the legal notice dated 11.02.2013 (Annexure P-2) within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order and in case, the claims are found due, the same be released within a further period of two months thereafter.

The petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
