The petitioner's precise grievance is that plot Nos. 12 and 21 have not been auctioned by the Gram Panchayat though other plots have been auctioned. The Gram Panchayat as well as the State of Punjab have filed separate replies that these plots were auctioned on 1.8.2012 (Annexure R-6) before the filing of the writ petition.
In response, counsel for the petitioner asserts that the

auction is a mere sham as procedure prescribed for auction of Gram Panchayat land has not been followed.
We have heard counsel for the parties, perused the pleadings and as plot nos. 12 and 21 have already been auctioned, the relief sought in the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous. The writ petition is disposed of as infructuous.
In case the petitioners have any grievance against the legality of the auction, they would be at liberty to seek appropriate remedy, in accordance with law.
