The petitioner-Gram Panchayat is seeking release of the amount of compensation in respect of award dated 27.3.1991 whereby an amount of ` 25,36,354.17 was awarded as compensation for the land of the Gram Panchayat which was acquired. Besides the aforesaid, it is claimed that the Collector had also awarded solatium @ 30% on the amount of compensation with an additional amount of 12%.
After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner states that he may be allowed to withdraw the present writ petition with liberty to the petitioner-Gram Panchayat to move an application claiming the aforesaid relief before the appropriate forum in accordance with law.
In view of the above, the present writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. It shall, however, be open to the petitioner-Gram Panchayat to take recourse to the remedy as may be available to it in accordance with law.
