Petitioner has approached this Court with a grievance that the respondents have not appointed him although he possesses higher merit as Art & Craft Teacher in the General Category, i.e., 66.4421%, which is more than respondent No.3-Ramandeep Kaur, who has secured 66.4211% and has been issued the appointment letter.

Counsel contends that the petitioner, at this stage, would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.2-Director Public Instructions (Secondary Education), Punjab to consider and decide the representation dated 2.1.2012 (Annexure P-14) submitted by the petitioner, highlighting therein his grouse and asserting his claim for appointment to the post of Art & Craft Teacher against the General

In view of the statement made by the counsel for the petitioner and without going into the merit of the case or commenting thereon, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Director Public Instructions (Secondary Education), Punjab to consider and decide the representation dated 2.1.2012 (Annexure P-14) filed by the petitioner within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

In case the claim of the petitioner is not to be accepted, then a well reasoned and speaking order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner forthwith.
