Petitioner has approached this Court, praying for release of the pensionary benefits to which he is entitled to on his superannuation as Assistant Inspector, Food & Civil Supplies from Muktsar.

It is contended that the petitioner has been released the pension and the G.P.Fund. Apart from this, no other retiral benefits have been released to him. Petitioner had been approaching the respondents, but without any response or result. One of the representations, which have been submitted by the petitioner, dated 24.7.2011 (Annexure P-2) addressed to the Director, Food and Supplies, Punjab, has been appended along with the writ petition, which, the counsel states has, till date, not been decided. accordingly submits that the petitioner, at this stage, would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.2-Director Food and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Punjab to consider and decide the representation dated 24.7.2011 (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner, within some specified time.

In view of the statement made by the counsel for the petitioner and without going into the merit of the case or commenting thereon, the present writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Director Food and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Punjab to consider and decide the representation dated 24.7.2011 (Annexure P-2) within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

In case the claim of the petitioner is accepted, the consequential benefits, if any, be released to him, in accordance with law, within a further period of one month.

In case the claim of the petitioner is not to be accepted, then a well reasoned and speaking order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner forthwith.
