The petitioner had been granted the benefit of reinstatement in service with continuity of service and all consequential benefits when his order of dismissal dated 12.8.1999 was set aside on 29.11.2010. The petitioner was permitted to join his duties but he claimed that nothing was paid to him. Alleging that the orders passed by this court had been disobeyed intentionally, the present contempt petition was filed.
Written statement in the shape of an affidavit has been filed by the IGP, Border Range, Amritsar- respondent No.2 to the effect that order passed by this court has been complied with and that the arrears in the sum of Rs.14,29,876/- stand deposited on 4.9.2012 in petitioner's HDFC bank account.
Counsel for the petitioner seeks time to verify the calculations. I have heard counsel for the parties and gone through the reply. In view of the above circumstances, I am satisfied that the order passed by this court has been complied with. This contempt petition is disposed of as having rendered infructuous. Rule against the respondents is discharged. In case the petitioner is able to find out anything wrong in the calculations, it will be open to the petitioner to submit a representation and claim any amount, alleged to have not been paid.
