The claim in this petition is that the petitioners ad hoc service should be counted towards grant of proficiency step-up and promotional scale on completion of 8/9 years of continuous service along with all the consequential benefits including arrears of pay and allowances from the date of initial appointment.
I have heard learned counsel for the parties.
It is well settled that ad hoc service cannot be counted towards service reckonable for grant of proficiency step up and higher pay scale in terms of assured career progression. In Hanumant Singh and others vs. State of Haryana and others reported in 2008(4) RSJ 756, the Division Bench of this Court has held that ad hoc service would not be counted for purposes of such benefits as are canvassed in this petition.
Learned counsel for the petitioners is unable to distinguish the

In view of the above, the instant petition is dismissed with no
order as to costs.
