Jaspreet Kaur and Iqbal Singh, wife and husband, respectively, moved this Court seeking Police protection on the ground that they have married against the wishes of their parents and relations on October 17, 2012 and they now apprehend danger to their lives.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has stated that the petitioners have moved representation (Annexure P4) before the Police authorities to seek protection but no action has been taken by the Police.
Notice of motion.
Mr. Gurnihal Singh Grewal, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3-State.
In this view of the matter, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib, is directed to look into representation (Annexure P4) and if there is any substance in it, may proceed further, in accordance with law.
The present order, however, shall not be deemed to be proof qua the factum/validity of their matrimonial alliance.
