Prayer made in the petition is for shifting the petitioner to Central Jail, Hisar, who is presently confined in District Jail, Kaithal.
Affidavit of Harish Kumar, Chief Probation Officer, Office of Director General of Prisons, Haryana filed by the respondent-State is taken on record.
As per Annexure R-1, appended with the affidavit, the Central Jail, Hisar is already over crowded. At present 1625 prisoners are confined in the Central Jail, Hisar, whereas the total sanctioned strength is 1020 prisoners.
In view of the said report, the present prayer cannot be accepted. Accordingly, the present petition is dismissed.
However, as and when the situation improves, the competent authority will look into the matter and take decision in this regard.
