In this petition, petitioners have sought a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant benefit of advance increments and higher start of pay in accordance with instructions, Annexures P-2, P-4 & P-5.
Learned State counsel at the outset submits that the question involved has already been decided by a Division Bench of this court in CWP No.3374 of 1995. According to him, same position was reiterated in the decision rendered in LPA No.374 of 1994 “State Vs. Joga Singh”. Learned State counsel has referred to stand taken by the State in the reply filed on its behalf. He has also referred to the averments made in para 2 of the writ petition to contend that all the petitioners acquired higher qualifications after 19th February, 1979. He submits that the case is, thus, squarely covered by the judgment delivered in the aforesaid cases.

The petitioners, however, remained unrepresented before
this court. It appears that they are no longer interested in pursuing the petition. The petition is, thus, dismissed for want of prosecution.
