The instant petition prays for issuance of a direction to the respondents to grant compensation to the petitioners on account of possession of their respective land which has been acquired in accordance with the provisions of Land Acquisition Act, 1894. A further direction has been sought to grant exemplary damages and mesne profits to the petitioners on account of illegal possession of land of the petitioners by respondents for the last more than 34 years.

Before approaching the Court, the petitioner has served a legal notice on the respondent (P-9). The aforesaid legal notice which was served on behalf of the petitioner and a large number of other persons, was duly replied by the respondent. In Para 11 of the reply (P-10) dated 24.05.2011 it has been categorically pointed out that the total land compensation has already been deposited in the office of Land Acquisition Officer, Bhiwani

and the petitioner and other may collect the compensation amount from the Land Acquisition Officer as per the provisions of law and after proving their identification. There is no effort made by the petitioners to approach the Land Acquisition Officer for disbursement of the compensation.

Accordingly, we relegate the petitioner to first approach the Land Acquisition Officer, Bhiwani for disbursement of the compensation as per the provisions of law.

The writ petition stands disposed of in the above directions.
