Petitioners namely Mandeep Kaur and Gurjit Singh are present in the Court. Mandeep Kaur, who has been identified by her counsel, has stated that she has obtained qualification upto Matriculation and that she was born on 7th May, 1991. It is further stated by the petitioners that they have solemnized marriage according to their own volition against the wishes of their parents. The petitioners seek protection to their life and pray that they may not be harmed by those who have not accepted their marriage.
Issue notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3 only. On the asking of Court, Mr. J.S. Sandhu, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on their behalf. A copy of the petition has been supplied to him and he has gone through the contents of the same.
Respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur is directed to assess threat perception to the petitioners and if required, ensure necessary vigil that no harm is caused to their life.

With the observations made above, present petition is disposed of. However, it is specifically observed that this Court has not determined the validity of marriage.
A copy of this order, duly attested by the Bench Secretary of this Court, be supplied to counsel for the State for onward transmission and compliance.
