Counsel for the petitioner has sought direction to be issued to the Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Ludhiana to conclude the trial in FIR No.215 dated 21.9.2007 under Sections 406, 498-A and 313 IPC, registered at Police Station Model Town, Ludhiana in a time bound period. On 05.3.2010 the charges were framed and thereafter four witnesses have been examined.
Mr. Raghbir Chaudhary, Sr. DAG Punjab on instructions from ASI Satnam Singh informs the Court that there are 11 witnesses in all out of which four have been examined. The petitioner has already moved an application under Section 319 Cr.P.C. to summon one Parmeet Kaur as additional accused.
Since the matter is pending and the FIR was registered way-back on 21.9.2007, this criminal miscellaneous petition is being disposed of by giving direction to the trial Court to conclude the trial within a period of one year.
