Affidavit of Manminder Singh, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran has been filed in the Court today and the same is taken on record. A copy thereof has been supplied to the counsel opposite.

According to the aforesaid affidavit, all the proclaimed offenders including the main accused namely Gurdip Singh have since been arrested. In this view of the matter, the Court expresses its satisfaction that the primary grievance of the petitioner stands redressed and all the alleged perpetrators of the offence have been booked and arrested.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that now six accused persons are on bail and therefore he apprehends threat at their hands. He also states that earlier he was granted some security by the police of Tarn Taran but same is now wanting.

Mr. Teji, learned counsel for the State of Punjab on instructions from DSP Ram Parkash has stated that necessary police protection is still

with the petitioner.

Be that as it may be, the threat perception of the petitioner is to be taken care of by the police authorities. Therefore, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran to evaluate the threat perception of the petitioner arising out of the given set of circumstances and take necessary action in this regard according to his satisfaction. In case, the petitioner requires more security than what he has already been granted, he has liberty to approach Senior Superintendent of Police who may explore the possibility of granting him more security subject to the petitioner paying for the same.

Before parting with the order, noticing the fact that the needful has been done and the necessary persons have been booked, therefore, directions dated 1.8.2011 regarding the entering of remarks in the service book of the concerned Deputy Superintendent of Police namely Ram Parkash and Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran stand expunged and recalled. However, it is made clear that in case the said officers are involved in any acts of omission or commission then the competent authority may consider this material as well.
