The petitioner seeks his release on bail in case FIR No.138 dated 29.9.2010 registered at P.S. Zira, District Ferozepur under Section 15 of the N.D.P.S. Act.
As per the allegations contained in the FIR, the poppy husk weighing 105 Kgs. was recovered from the petitioner by the police party. The contraband allegedly recovered from the petitioner is admittedly of commercial quantity.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is already in custody for the last about 10 months and instead of pressing his released on regular bail, it will be expedient if a direction is issued to the

Special Court to expedite the trial. The stand taken by the petitioner being just and fair, this petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to the Special Court, Ferozepur to expedite the trial and make and endeveour to conclude the same within a period of six month from the date of receiving
a certified copy of this order.
