The petitioners seek a mandamus to direct the respondents to count their adhoc service' towards seniority and then grant them all the consequential' benefits.
It is the case of the petitioners that they were initially appointed on adhoc basis followed by regularization of their services in terms of the Government Policy.
It is well settled that the benefit of adhoc service' cannot be granted towards seniority. Similarly, the benefits like proficiency step-up etc. are also admissible on the basis of satisfactory regular service'

without taking into account the adhoc/stop-gap period of service. The desired relief, therefore, cannot be granted to the petitioners.
The writ petition stands dismissed.
