This petition has been filed claiming that the petitioners are all working at Sirhind and not at Fatehgarh Sahib and thus should be granted House Rent Allowance on that basis.
Originally it was stated that this petition was similar to CWP No. 361 of 1991 which had been decided by this Court. However, today learned counsel for the petitioners states that the facts of the aforesaid CWP No. 361 of 1991 are entirely different and would have no bearing on this case.

In the written statement the respondents have categorically averred that 50 acres land was acquired for setting up of the Administrative Offices. Out of the said 50 acres, only 3 kanals and 15 marlas fell in the limits of Municipal Committee, Sirhind while the entire remaining land was acquired from village Harnam Nagar, Tehsil Fatehgarh Sahib, District Patiala. No replication has been filed.
Consequently the claim of the petitioners that they are posted at Sirhind and, therefore, should get their House Rent Allowance on that basis is untenable.
In the result this petition is dismissed.
