The petitioner is the mother of Ravikaran who is alleged to have committed rape on the daughter of the complainant. The incident had occurred one year ago. The Head Officer, Police Station Islamabad, Amritsar in his report dated 9.6.2010 (Annexure P4) had observed that both the parties were related to each other and the real reason for the complaint was that the complainant wanted to engage her daughter with the son of the petitioner but the petitioner was not willing for this. In the investigation that was conducted, no truth was found in the allegations made in the application. The petitioner herself is a lady and being a lady it cannot be said to have committed the offence of rape.
Learned State counsel has submitted that the petitioner has joined the investigation and her custody is not required for the purposes of investigation.
In the circumstances, the interim bail granted on 9.7.2010 is
made absolute.
