This appeal is directed against the order dated 07.10.2008 passed by the Commissioner Workmen's Compensation, Amritsar-I, granting compensation to Kashmir Kaur and others.
When the case came up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the appellant sought time to deposit the compensation, which is mandatory as per the provisions provided under Section 30 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923. Thereafter, more time was sought for the same purpose on 16.02.2009. On 24.04.2009, another opportunity was sought, for doing the needful. Till date, the amount has not been deposited. Today, learned counsel, appearing for the appellant states that the appellant is unable to deposit the compensation amount.
In view of the facts narrated above, the appeal is ordered to be dismissed for non-compliance of the provisions of Section 30 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923.
