Challenge in the present appeal is to the order dated 19.8.2008, passed by Railway Claims Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench, Chandigarh, whereby interest on the amount of compensation has not been allowed to the appellant.
Learned counsel for the respondent fairly concedes that the claim made by the appellant in the appeal regarding payment of interest from the date of application till the actual payment of the amount of compensation is squarely covered by the judgment of this Court in FAO No. 110 of 2009 –Des Raj v. Union of India, decided on 17.7.2009.
Accordingly, for the reasons stated in Des Raj's case (supra), the present appeal is allowed in the same terms.
