This petition has been moved by Navdeep Singh under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of parole for four weeks in case FIR No.34 dated 11.8.1999 registered under Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Police Station Panchkula.
In the reply filed by the respondents, it has been averred that the petitioner was released on 30.4.2002 on four weeks' parole from the jail and he was directed to surrender in the jail on 29.5.2002 but he got extended his existing parole by filing Crl. Misc. No.21871-M of 2002 and thereafter, again he got extended his parole by moving another application in Crl. Misc. No.24393-M of 2002 and again he moved Crl. Misc. No.25150-M of 2002 to get his existing parole extended but his said application was dismissed by this Court. The convict/ petitioner failed to surrender himself to jail authorities on 1.7.2002. police after 6 years, 7 months and 15 days and a case has been registered vide FIR No.288 dated 26.7.2002. Palpably, the convict/ petitioner continued absconding for a long time. That being so, I do not deem it a fit case to grant parole to the petitioner. Sequelly, this petition is dismissed.
