Neelam & Anr. Vs State of Punjab & Ors.

Neelam and Sanju-petitioners have filed this petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty from the hands of respondent Nos.4 and 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the marriage of the petitioners was solemnized on 8.5.2009. Certificate (Annexure P-3) in this regard has been issued by

Crl.Misc.No.M-14147 of 2009 (O&M) -2Gurudwara Sahib Ramgarhia, Lahori Gate, Patiala. He has further submitted that the petitioners have moved a representation to Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala ( Annexure P-5) but no action has been taken so far.

Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala-respondent No.2 is directed to look into the representation made by the petitioners (Annexure P-5) and if required, necessary protection be provided to them.
