This is a petition for grant of anticipatory bail in a case registered against the petitioner, under Section 420 IPC at Police Station City Dhuri, District Sangrur, vide FIR No.40 dated 23rd March, 2009.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has argued that the petitioner has been implicated in a false case by the complainant due to pendency of civil litigation between him and the complainant. According to the counsel, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not at all necessary and thus he is entitled to concession of anticipatory bail.
I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner.
A perusal of the FIR shows that there are allegations against the petitioner that he has been demanding money from the complainant allegedly to be passed on to the judicial officers. Detail of various such incidents have been given by the complainant in the FIR.

The complainant has alleged that he parted with various sums of money on different occasions which the petitioner claimed to have passed on to various judicial officers.
In view of the allegations levelled in the FIR, I am of the considered view that custodial interrogation of the petitioner may be necessary for taking the investigation to its logical end. I, therefore, find no ground to extend the concession of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
The petition is hereby dismissed.
