This petition has been filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail in case registered vide FIR No.204 dated 19.12.2005 under Sections 363, 366, 376, 313, 506, 120-B IPC at P.S. City, Shimlapuri, Ludhiana.
The allegations contained in the FIR are that Ram Preet has committed rape upon the prosecutrix namely Rinki Singh, aged 15 years. Counsel for the petitioner argued that petitioner is in custody since 19.12.2005 and the trial is not making any headway.
Counsel for the respondent-State states that already four PWs have been examined and the next date fixed before the trial court for remaining PWs is for 9.8.2008. It is also brought to the notice of the Court that sister of the accused Nargis has already been granted bail by this Court,

who has now absconded.
In view of the above, I do not find any merit in this petition.
