The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the dispute between the parties has been settled and they had entered into a compromise on 15.5.2008 (Annexure P-1).

Complainant-respondent No.2/Amarjit Singh, as identified by Shri A.S.Cheema, Advocate, is present in court, and states that with the intervention of the respectables, all the disputes have been settled. The parties want to live in peace and the complainant is not ready and willing to

prosecute the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the respondent-State states that in view of the compromise having been effected between the parties, he has no objection if the FIR and the proceedings are quashed.

Having regard to the fact that the complainant has endorsed the factum of compromise and would not be bringing any evidence to court, continuance of the proceedings would not serve any legal purpose. In view of the above, the petition is allowed. FIR No.323 dated 22.11.2006 under Sections 452, 506, 294, Indian Penal Code, Police Station, Sadar Ferozepur, District Ferozepur, and subsequent proceedings are quashed.
