The present writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-

“(i) That this is an application writ, order or direction, directing the respondents concern to pay the amount of medical reimbursement i.e. Rs.

24,68,333/- alongwith penal interest which has not been paid to the petitioner till date without any rhyme and reason although the amount has been sanctioned and approved by the department concerned.

And for any other relief (s) for which the petitioner is found to be entitled in the fact and circumstances of the case.”

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the

medical reimbursement amount of Rs. 24,68,333/- has already been paid to the petitioner. However, he contends that the petitioner has not been paid any interest on the delayed reimbursement and, therefore, the only surviving grievance is with regard to payment of interest on the said amount.

Learned counsel for the State submits that a counter affidavit has been filed, wherein it has been stated that the competent authority has already sanctioned the claim and the medical reimbursement amount has been paid to the petitioner.

In view of the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner that the medical reimbursement amount has already been released, no further relief survives in the present writ petition so far as the reimbursement claim is concerned. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.

So far as the petitioner's claim for interest on the delayed payment of the medical reimbursement amount is

concerned, this Court is not inclined to grant the same, as there is no pleading to indicate that the petitioner had borrowed any amount by way of a loan or otherwise suffered any such financial liability on account of the delay in reimbursement.
