The instant writ application has been filed for

directing the respondents for payment of salary to the petitioner from 10.02.2014 till today, minus the amount of Rs.4,22,036/only, which has already been paid, alongwith interest on delayed payment.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Headmaster of Primary School, Halwar, Barauli, DistrictGopalganj, has forwarded a bill amounting to Rs.29,00,848/-

towards the petitioner’s salary for the period from February, 2014 to January, 2026 to the Block Education Officer, Gopalganj. It is submitted that the petitioner has received only Rs.4,22,036/- According to the petitioner, despite being entitled to Rs.29,00,848/-, only a sum of Rs.4,22,036/- has been paid for unexplained reasons, although the petitioner has been regularly discharging duties on the post of Panchayat Teacher since the date of joining, i.e., 10.02.2014, and has an unblemished service record. It is further submitted that the petitioner filed a representation before the District Programme Officer (Establishment), Gopalganj, ventilating his grievances; however, for reasons best known to the authorities, the same has not been adjudicated in light of Letter No.501 dated 17.02.2026, which is said to have been forwarded by the Headmaster of the School.

On the other hand, learned counsel for the State submits that the matter can be disposed of with a direction upon the District Programme Officer (Establishment), Gopalganj, to take a final decision on the representation filed by the petitioner and adjudicate the petitioner’s claim for salary in reference to Letter No.501 dated 17.02.2026 sent by the Headmaster of the School to the Block Education Officer, Gopalganj, as also by considering the other official records, which could suggest the

status of duties discharged by the petitioner.

Considering the arguments advanced on behalf of

the parties, this Court directs the District Programme Officer (Establishment), Gopalganj, to decide the petitioner’s claim for salary in reference to Letter No.501 dated 17.02.2026 issued by the Headmaster, within a period of eight weeks from the date of filing of a fresh representation by the petitioner along with all supporting documents, including a copy of this order, which shall be filed within two weeks from today.
