From the materials available on record, it appears that the father of the petitioner died in harness on 13.08.1996 while he was posted in the office of Joint Director, Agriculture (Paat), Purnea and thereafter the mother of the petitioner had applied for compassionate appointment and recommendation was made in her favour, but, she never joined and when the petitioner has attained the majority, he filed a fresh application

for compassionate appointment.

It is trite that the very object of compassionate appointment is to give immediate succor to the bereaved family, whose bread earner died in harness, leaving the family in destitution. Now the object of the compassionate appointment also stands defeated, after a delay of 20 years.

This Court is not persuaded to interfere in the present writ petition.

The writ petition stands closed.
