complaint case punishable for the offence under Sections 304(B)/ 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

It is a case of ‘Dowry Death’. As per prosecution case, daughter of informant was married with co-accused Sadam Ali on 29.07.2021 as per Muslim rites & rituals, but some time after the marriage, daughter of informant was subject to cruelty and harassment due to non-fulfillment of dowry and lastly, on 21.06.2023, the informant received an information that his daughter has been killed by her husband and other in-laws members by strangulation.

Petitioners (in Cr.Misc. No. 19114/25) are brotherin-law (nsoj) and sister-in-law (uun) of the deceased, whereas petitioner (in Cr.Misc. No. 21270/25) is mother-in-law (lkl) of the deceased and have never committed torture or demanded any dowry. They are separate in mess and property and have got no concern with the affairs of couple. As a matter of fact, the deceased was short-tempered lady and always used to threaten her husband and other in-laws members for committing suicide and therefore, on the alleged date, due to anger, she herself committed suicide.

However, learned A.P.P. for the State vehemently opposed the prayer for anticipatory bail of petitioners and submitted that there is specific allegation against these petitioners that they committed torture to deceased for dowry
