Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.

Petitioner seeks bail in a case registered in connection with N.D.P.S.Case No. 6 of 2018 arising out of NCB/PZU/Cr.No. 20/18 for the offences punishable under Sections 8,20,29 of the N.D.P.S Act.

Having regard to the nature of accusation and gravity of offence that on search of vehicle 407 bearing Reg. No. BR01-GF-3887, a huge quantity of 48 packet sealed Ganja weighing 517 kg, was recovered and this petitioner is said to be

driver of the said vehicle. This Court is not persuaded to enlarge the petitioner on bail. However, it is submitted by the learned cousnel for the petitioner that other accused persons, who were said to have been escorted the petitioner’s vehicle, by a Xylo vehicle, have been granted bail by different Benches of this Court, and the petitioenr is in custody since 13.04.2018.

Considering the fact that recovery has been made from the vehicle which was driven by this petitioner. This Court does not persuade to grant privilege of bail to the petitioner at present and as such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner stands rejected.

However, the learned trial court is expected to conclude the trial of the petitioner as early as possible. The petitioner will be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after six months, if the trial is not concluded.
