Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the State.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after filing of the present writ application, from the last two months the petitioner is getting regular salary, but, he has not been paid arrears of salary for the period from December, 2013, to October, 2014, May, 2016, to June, 2016, 21.12.2016 to 31.12.2016 and January, 2017, to March, 2018, and for other periods.

This petition was filed on 16.05.2018. Respondents have not filed any counter affidavit and as such the writ petition is pending.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of

with a direction to the respondents to verify the record to ascertain that the petitioner had worked for the aforesaid period or not. If the petitioner had worked for the aforesaid period, the respondents are directed to pay the arrears of salary for the aforesaid period within a maximum period of 60 days from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, failing which the respondents have to pay 9% interest on the arrears from the date of its accrual till the date of its actual payment and the interest shall be paid from the pocket of the respondent official(s).
