Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned counsel for the respondent-South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited.

The present writ petition has been filed for quashing letter no. 947 dated 15.03.2018 issued by the General Manager (Revenue) of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Private Limited whereby and whereunder the supplementary electricity bill of Rs. 13,78,624/- from March 2017 to November 2017 has been charged from the petitioner.

At the very outset, this Court takes note that remedy by way of appeal before the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum is

available to the petitioner against the impugned letter no. 947 dated 15.03.2018 issued by the General Manager (Revenue), which has not been availed of by the petitioner.

In view of availability of the alternative remedy as above, this Court is not inclined to interfere in the matter. The writ petition stands dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to file an appeal before the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum, Patna for redressal of its grievances.

It is made clear that in case such an appeal is filed, the concerned authority would have regard to the present proceeding being pursued by the petitioner, while considering any issue relating to condonation of delay, if applicable.
