Learned counsel for the State has produced the progress report/status report of Phulwarisharif Police Station Case No.684 of 2013.

Having perused the report aforementioned and having considered the matter in its entirety, we find that since

investigation is in progress, the same must be allowed to be conducted in such a manner that truth may surface.

Considering, therefore, the matter in its entirety and in the interest of justice, this writ petition is closed with direction to the Officer-in-Charge, Phulwarisharif Police Station, Patna, to ensure that proper, fair, and effective investigation is conducted into the case aforementioned as expeditiously as reasonably possible. In order to ensure fair and effective investigation, we further direct that the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, shall supervise the investigation until the time the same comes to its logical end.

With the above observations and directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

The report, which has been submitted by the State, shall be kept, in sealed cover, by the Registry.
