The petitioners are apprehending arrest in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

It is alleged that the informant fixed the marriage of his daughter with the nephew of petitioner no.2 when Rs. 1, 50,000/was given and subsequently further Rs. 4,50,000/- was demanded when marriage could not be performed.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the payment was made to the father of the alleged boy when it is submitted by learned counsel for the informant that specific case of the informant in the FIR is that the payment was made to petitioner no.2 and father of the alleged boy.
