====================================================== CORAM: HON’BLE MR JUSTICE NAVANITI PRASAD SINGH ORAL ORDER 8 04-12-2012 The petitioner had filed this writ petition in the year, 1999 with a prayer that though he was granted promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in the year 1999, he was entitled to the same with effect from 1994 when his juniors were granted promotion. It is not in dispute that in 1994 when his juniors were granted promotion, petitioner did not approach this Court for any relief. He waited and once the writ application of other similarly situated persons was allowed by this Court and they were consequently granted relief by the State, he filed this

writ petition.
From the records, it appears that the petitioner was born in 1943. As such, he must have retired in the year, 2001. We are in the end of 2012 and, as such, it would be over 12 years since superannuation of the petitioner. Apparently, it is because of this that no one appears for the petitioner.
The facts aforesaid, as pointed by the learned AAG III do not compel me to keep this writ petition pending any more. It is, accordingly, disposed of.
