The petitioner seeks the relief for payment of arrears of salary pursuant to the revision of the pay in terms of the revised UGC pay scale with effect from 1.1.1996 and other admissible arrears to the extent of Rs. 9,68,085/-.
Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondents have themselves drawn up the dues of the petitioner by their own calculation as appended at Annexure 1 to the writ application.
Counsel for the University rightly submits that it remains a matter for verification by the University what shall be the legitimate entitlement of the petitioner.
The petitioner appears to have represented on 26.2.2011 also.
Considering that the petitioner is a superannuated employee, rather
to ask for a counter affidavit to facilitate payments of legitimate dues in

accordance with law at an early date the writ application is disposed at this stage as the Counsel for the University has no objection to the disposal of this application with a direction to examine the grievance of the petitioner and ensure that legitimate dues of the petitioner for revised pay scale in accordance with law are paid to him preferably within a maximum period of four months from the date of receipt and/or presentation of a copy of this order.
In order to give finality the Court considers it prudent to further direct that the University shall furnish a statement of calculation to the petitioner so that he is made aware of the same and if aggrieved can pursue his grievances appropriately in accordance with law as he may be advised.,
The writ application stands disposed.
