Order No. 20.04.2026 01. 1. The instant writ petition in the nature of habeas corpus is taken out for a direction to the opposite party Nos.1 to 3 to take appropriate steps to rescue the minor daughter of the petitioner who is allegedly in the custody of opposite party No.4.

2. On furnishing written instruction received from Inspectorin-Charge, Bansada Police Station, Bhadrak by Ms. Aishwarya Dash, learned Addl. Standing Counsel, it is revealed that during investigation, the victim girl had been rescued from Bangalore on 16.04.2026. Thereafter, her statement under Section 180 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (in short, ‘BNSS’) has been recorded by the S.I., Bhadrak Rural Police Station in presence of her mother on 18.04.2026 and she was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (in short, “CWC”), Bhadrak and was taken to DHH, Bhadrak for her medical examination being accompanied with her parents

on 19.04.2026. Now, the victim is in CWC, Bhadrak for further follow up action.

In view of the above development, since the minor victim girl has already been rescued and put in safe custody and the CWC would be activated for the purpose stated above, this Court does not feel it appropriate to keep the instant writ petition pending as it would not subserve any fruitful purpose.

4. Accordingly, the WPCRL stands disposed of.
