Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Additional Government Advocate for the State.

The petitioners have approached this Court with the following prayer:

“ The petitioners, therefore, pray that Your Lordship’s may graciously be pleased to admit this writ application, call for the records and after hearing the parties, allow the same and issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus/Certiorari or any other or further writ/writ(s), direction/directions directing the learned Addl. Commissioner, Consolidation and Settlement, Balasore to dispose of the R.P. No. 263 of 2020 pending in the Court within three months for the interest of justice.

The petitioners’ grievance is that R.P. Case No. 263 of 2020 pending before the learned Additional Commissioner, Consolidation and Settlement, Balasore, has not yet been disposed of though the same is pending since the year 2020. It is submitted that despite lapse of considerable time, the said revision petition is not being taken up for final adjudication and the inaction of the authority is causing prejudice to the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have already approached the authority for early disposal of the case, but no steps have been taken so far.

Considering the limited grievance, the writ application is disposed of directing the Additional Commissioner, Consolidation and Settlement, Odisha, Balasore to take up R.P. Case No. 263 of 2020 and dispose of the same in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order by the petitioners.
