The petitioners have approached this Court with the following

“The petitioners, therefore, pray that this Hon’ble Court would graciously be pleased to consider the above stated facts and circumstances of the case, admit this writ petition, issue notice to the Opposite Parties under Rule NISI, calling upon the Opp.Party No. 2 to show cause as to why the Revision Petition filed by the petitioners shall not be heard and disposed of within stipulated time period and if the Opposite Parties fail to show cause or shows insufficient cause, the said Rule be made absolute and any direction in the nature of mandamus may be issued to the Opposite Party No.2 to hear and dispose of the Revision Petition pending in the Court of the Opposite Party No.2 in consonance with the facts stated therein i.e. Annexure2;

And pass such any other writ(s)/direction(s)/order (s) as may be deemed fit and proper in the bonafide interest of justice; And for this act of kindness, the petitioners as in duty bound shall ever pray.”

The petitioners have preferred Revision Petition No. 1107 of 2016 pending before the Commissioner, Land Records & Settlement, Board of Revenue, Odisha, Cuttack. In the present writ application, they seek a direction to the Opposite Party No.2 for early disposal of the Revision Petition. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that no effective steps have been taken in the said revision.

Considering the innocuous prayer, the writ application is disposed of directing the Opposite Party No. 2 to dispose of the above referred Revision Petition as early as possible, preferably within four weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order by the petitioner.
