The petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayer:-

“ Under the above facts and circumstances,- it is therefore prayed that for the interest of justice this Hon'ble Court would be graciously pleased to issue a writ in nature of mandamus directing the O.P.No.2, Settlement Officer, Cuttack to register and dispose of appeal memos u/s 22(b) 088 Act and a direction for settling the land in favour of the petitioner appertaining to Plot nos. 1612 and 1613 in the Hal ROR-1110/14, and in the Hal ROR-736 corresponding to Sabik Plot No-41 under Sabik Khata No-161 A0.198

dec. located in Mouza-Sampur, P8-Chandaka in Khurda District and may kindly direct the Settlement Officer, Cuttack for making up-to-date correction of ROR in pursuance to petitioner's purchase land by giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as per the decision of this Hon'ble Court in W.P.(C) No17676/2026 referring to Judgment in the case of Sanjeeb Kumar Ghosh vs. Asst. Settlement Officer as in W.P.(C) No.23773 of 2025.

And any other relief (s) which you lordships deem just and proper.

And for this act of kindness the petitioner as on duty bound shall ever pray.”

Having regard to the innocuous prayer, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Jobra, Cuttack, (Opposite Party No. 2) to make an effort to dispose of appeal memo under Section 22(b) of OSS Act and to consider the petitioner’s claim for settlement of the land appertaining to Plot Nos. 1612 & 1613 in Hal ROR No.1110/14 and Hal ROR-736 corresponding to Sabik Plot No. 41 under Sabik Khata No. 161, Ac. 198 dec. situated in Mouza-Sampur, district-Khurda, in favour of the petitioner, as early as possible, preferably within four weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order by the petitioner.
