1. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that this writ petition has been filed for a direction to supply information by the Public Information Officer, Jajpur Block (Opposite Party No.2).

Upon receiving instruction from the Odisha Information Commission, learned counsel appearing for the opposite party no.1 by furnishing a copy of the decision dated 30^th July, 2026 passed by the State Chief Information Commissioner, Bhubaneswar in Second Appeal No.4760 of 2023 in Court today, submitted that alleging non-supply of information by the Public Information Officer, the petitioner approached the Odisha Information Commission-opposite party no.1 for doing the needful. He further submitted that in view of such decision dated 30^th July, 2026, no direction is warranted to be issued in the present matter to the Public Information Officer, Jajpur

Block though the petitioner had applied seeking information to the District Civil Supply Officer, Jajpur in Form-A appended to Rule 4 of the Odisha Right to Information Rules, 2005, read with Section 6 of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

3. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing for the opposite party no.1 and learned Additional Standing Counsel appearing for the State-opposite party no.2

On perusal of record, it reveals that though the information has been sought for by filing an application in Form-A to the Public Information Officer in the District Civil Supply Office, Jajpur District, the Public Information Officer, Jajpur Block, Jajpur is arrayed as a party in the present proceeding. Be that be, perusal of decision dated 30^th July, 2026 passed in Second Appeal No.4760 of 2023 by the Odisha Information Commission, it is revealed that:

“1. In the present case, the appellant had submitted his application in questionnaire format. This application should have been straightway rejected by the PIO.

2. However, records reveal that the PIO had given a suitable reply to the appellant on 24.11.2023.

¶22

3. During hearing, the appellant stated the he had received all information but was unhappy that the arrears of his PDS rice was not delivered to his home.

4. The Commission explained to the appellant that no direction for delivery of rations can be given under the RTI Act.

5. Accordingly, the present second appeal is disposed since all requisite information has already been provided to the appellant.

5. In view of such decision, no further direction is required to be passed in the present writ petition. Hence, the writ petition stands disposed of.
