1. Heard learned counsel for the respective parties

Instant CRLMP is filed by the petitioner for a direction to opposite party Nos. 3 & 4 to properly investigate the matter in connection with Pipili P.S.Case No.83 of 2026 in view of the F.I.R. as at Annexure-1.

A request is made to the S.P. Puri, namely, opposite party No.2 for a proper investigation alleging inaction of the Pipili P.S. subsequent to the lodging of the F.I.R. i.e. Annexure-1. Mr. Mohapatra, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that only one accused has been arrested and others are not yet and the investigation is not satisfactory. It is submitted that the petitioner is a lawyer by profession and he was assaulted during the alleged incident dated 8^th February, 2026. It is claimed that ever since lodging of the F.I.R. in the month of February, 2026, there has been no real progress in the investigation. In reply to the above, Ms. Sahu, learned AGA

submits that one accused has been arrested and two others involved in the alleged incident are under interim protection of this Court and in the meantime, two of the witnesses are also examined by the I.O. concerned and the investigation is underway. This Court finds that the investigation is on but there is a need for a direction to the I.O. concerned to expedite the same. In so far as the submission of Mr. Mohapatra, learned counsel for the petitioner regarding the failure on the part of the I.O. to arrest two of the accused persons, as it is made to understand, in view of the response of Ms. Sahu, learned AGA, it has not taken place due to the interim protection granted by this Court vide ABLAPL No. 6227 of 2026.

4. Accordingly, it is ordered.

In the result, the CRLMP stands disposed of with the direction as aforesaid. It is further directed that opposite party 4 shall ensure expeditious investigation in connection with Pipili P.S. Case No. 83 of 2026 with the collection of all such material evidence with respect to the alleged incident reported as per the F.I.R. i.e. Annexure-1.

Issue urgent certified copy of this order as per rules.

A copy of the order be handed over to Ms. Sahu, learned AGA the State for its onward intimation to opposite party Nos.3 & 4 for early compliance.
