Mr. Saroj Kumar Rout, learned Additional Standing Counsel produces the instructions dated 29.01.2026 of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack UPD. The documents shall not be scanned along with copy of the medical requisition, copy of the injury report of the victim and her statement recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS.

Apart from describing the steps taken in the investigation, it has been stated in the instructions that the I.I.C., Choudwar Police Station has been instructed to monitor the progress of investigation of both the cases and to ensure free and fair investigation of the cases and to take legal action against the accused persons as per law and complete the investigation expeditiously. It is further submitted that ACP Zone-1 has been instructed to supervise the investigation of both the cases promptly and to ensure free and fair investigation of the cases.

Mr. Sankarsan Sahoo, learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that in the meanwhile the statement of the victimPetitioner has been recorded under Section 183 of NBSS. He submits that the accused Sanjay Barik @ Kalia has not been arrested and he is roaming about in the locality threatening her.

As statement of the victim has been recorded under Section 183 of the BNSS and as ACP Zone-I has been directed to supervise the cases, in view of the instructions received from the DCP, Cuttack UPD, no further direction is required to be issued in the CRLMP at present for which it is disposed of.

This Court hopes that the investigation in the case will be completed expeditiously and steps will be taken to arrest the accused.
