In filing this CRLMC, the Petitioner has prayed for quashing of the DV proceeding initiated against him in CRL Misc. No.1248 of 2025 pending before the court of learned J.M.F.C.-II, Bhubaneswar.

Heard learned counsel for the parties.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner is the father-in-law of the Opposite Party No.2. The allegations leveled against the Petitioner are false, baseless and devoid of any merit. The Petitioner is no way connected with the alleged offences. He further submits that the Petitioner is a senior citizen

and he has been falsely implicated this case. Hence, the Petitioner

is constrained to approach this Court seeking quashing of the criminal proceeding initiated against him.

Learned counsel for the Opposite Party No.2 submits that there are specific allegations against the present Petitioner. He further submits that the Petitioner was the main instigator in the entire episode of domestic discord. He further submits that the trial has substantially progressed and, with the cooperation of the parties, is likely to conclude expeditiously.

In view of the above and considering the submission made, this Court is of the view that since the trial is under progress, the prayer made by the Petitioner stands rejected. However, learned J.M.F.C.-II, Bhubaneswar is directed to expedite the trial, keeping in view the advanced age of the Petitioner, and make an endeavour to conclude the same as expeditiously as possible.

Accordingly, the CRLMC is dismissed.
