1. This matter is taken up through hybrid arrangement.

2. The Petitioners have filed this CRLMC seeking a direction from this Court to the learned JMFC(Cog.-I), Cuttack for early disposal of G.R Case No.1660 of 2017.

The brief fact of the case is that on 13.10.2017 Night at about 11 P.M. taking advantage of absence of three Sons of the Informant, the Petitioner No. 1 being her elder brother and Petitioner Nos.2 and 3 being her nephews forcibly effected their entry inside her house. Thereafter, they started abusing and assaulting on the Informant and her daughter-in-law. In this process also, they gave back push and assaulted her by means of fist blows and slaps. Thereafter, they tried to press the neck of the Informant and threatened to murder her which has

4. Learned counsel for the Petitioners submits that from the date of lodging of the FIR i.e., 14.10.2017 about nine years have already elapsed. Similarly, from the date of framing of charge in the year 2020 six years have already passed. But, still then out of total nine number of charge-sheeted witnesses, the prosecution does able to examine only two witnesses and by such process the Petitioners’ right to speedy trial has been infringed. It is further submitted that because of such callous attitude of the prosecution, the trial of the case is not yet concluded. Hence, the Petitioners are facing difficulties to lead their life in a normal manner. Therefore, the Petitioners are constrained to file this Petition.

5. Upon hearing the learned counsel for the Petitioners and on going through the averments made in this petition, this Court directs the learned JMFC(Cog-I), Cuttack to dispose of the G.R. Case No.1660 of 2017 at the earliest possible without giving unnecessary adjournment to the parties.

6. The CRLMC stands disposed of, accordingly.
