1. Learned Additional Government Advocate drawing attention of this Court to compliance affidavit dated 6^th August, 2026 sworn to by the Collector and District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur, wherein a copy of the order dated 7^th July, 2026 passed by the Collector and District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur has been enclosed, submitted that the direction contained in the judgment dated 18^th August, 2025 passed in W.P.(C) No.15128 of 2022 has already been fully complied with.

Upon perusal of the said compliance affidavit, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the judgment dated 18^th August, 2025 passed in W.P.(C) No.15128 of 2022 is stated to have been complied with, the Office Order dated 8^th July, 2026 regularising the service of the petitioner in the post of Assistant Revenue Inspector under Tirtol Tahasil is given effect from 7^th July, 2026, i.e., the date on which the Collector and District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur has passed the reasoned order.

3. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the opposite party-contemnor.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties and after going through the compliance affidavit dated 6^th August, 2026 and enclosed copy of the order dated 7^th July, 2026, this Court does not perceive wilful or deliberate negligence in non-compliance of the judgment dated 18^th August, 2025 passed in W.P.(C) No.15128 of 2022. In such view of the matter, the contempt proceeding is hereby dropped. Accordingly, the contempt petition stands disposed of. However, liberty is reserved to the petitioner, if he is so advised, to approach the appropriate forum seeking antedation of the date of regularisation.
