1. Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

The Petitioner is seeking pre-arrest bail in connection with V.G.R. Case No.08 of 2026 pending on the file of learned Additional District & Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (Vigilance), Sundargarh, arising out of Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.09 of 2026 for commission of offences punishable under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act.

It is submitted by the learned counsel that the Petitioner is not a named accused and because her husband, who is the principal accused, she has

reasonable apprehension of being taking into custody.

Learned counsel for the vigilance department opposes the prayer and submits that such apprehension is misconceived.

Taking into account the nature of allegations and that the Petitioner is a working lady, it is directed that in the event of arrest of the Petitioner in connection with the aforesaid case, she shall be released on bail by the Arresting Officer on such terms and conditions deemed just and proper with further conditions that she will cooperate with the investigation.

Violation of any of the above condition(s) shall entail cancellation of bail.

Accordingly, the ABLAPL stands disposed of.
