Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner as well as learned counsel for the State-Opposite Parties. Perused the writ petition as well as the documents annexed thereto.

The sole grievance of the Petitioner involved in the present writ petition is for a direction to the Opposite Party No.3 to issue a character certificate in his favour within the stipulated period of time in pursuance to the request letters vide Annexure-1 series to the writ

Learned counsel for the Petitioner, at the outset, contended that although other certificates have been issued in favour of the Petitioner, however the application of the Petitioner for issuance of character certificate has not been considered by the Opposite Party No.3. Being aggrieved by inaction of the Opposite Party No.3, the Petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

Learned counsel for the State, on the other hand, contended that there is nothing on record to show that the Petitioner had in fact approached the competent authority for grant of such certificate. He further contended that he will have no objection in the event this Court directs the Opposite Party No.3 to consider the grievance of the Petitioner in accordance with law and within the stipulated period of time.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing for the respective parties, this Court disposes of the writ petition at the stage of admission by directing the Opposite Party No.3 to consider and dispose of the application/representation of the Petitioner under Anneuxre-1 Series to the writ petition within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
